2021-2022 BOard Election

 BOARD ELECTION - SUnday, April 25, 2021

DFC MEMBERS will vote electronically. You will receive an email prior to April 25th with instructions and a Survey Monkey link.
If you do not have an active email, you will receive a letter inviting you to call in your vote.

BOARD Nominees: You will be voting for six.

Members of the board are elected for a one or two-year term depending on the number of votes. They are elected to represent
the best interests of the church regarding fiscal policy, providing oversight and accountability of DFC’s progress in fulfilling its mission,
in matters of church discipline, among other functions.

Stephanie Berg

  • Stephanie has considered DFC her church home since 2004.
  • She’s interested in a board position to see the church become debt free and to stay debt free, while protecting staff positions. 
  • Stephanie has had various corporate finance and accounting positions and for the last 14 years has worked in corporate finance, managing revenue portfolios from $20M to $200M in annual revenues.
  • Women of the Word Bible study has been foundational in her spiritual development and she has volunteered in that group since the beginning of 2004.
  • Stephanie has led Financial Peace University on several occasions and practices these principles personally. 
  • Her favorite verse is Isaiah 41:9-10. 

John Bruneau

  • John has been married to Kathy for 35 years.
  • He's been a member of DFC for 37 years.
  • John currently serves as DFC’s Church Board Secretary, and has previously served on the Church Board as President of DFC’s Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Missions Council.
  • He is also currently serving as the Work & Witness Coordinator for the Colorado District on the NMI Council.

DAVIS CLAY

  • Davis is a lifelong member of DFC.
  • He is active in the young adult and worship ministries.
  • He went to Olivet Nazarene University and graduated with a major in accounting.
  • He later completed his MBA with an emphasis in leadership.
  • Davis works as a Staff Accountant at Black Creek Group, a real estate investment firm located in downtown Denver.
  • He is married to Kenzie Snowbarger (Clay).

DUSTIN MILLER

  • Dustin's dad was a Nazarene Pastor and his parents were great examples for him growing up. He gets to practice their example as a husband to Brenna, and as a father to Reagan (10) and Jax (6).
  • He attended Mid America Nazarene University, 1998-2002 for Business Management.
  • Dustin played professional golf and became a Head Golf Professional running a golf club for 9 years. He then started his own Golf teaching academy at Black Bear Golf course in Parker.
  • He brings a great business mindset to the table for DFC. He looks forward to helping with all aspects, but feels passionate about outreach for DFC, and how we can make all aspects of our church great!
  • Dustin has a heart for God and DFC.  He is ready to serve at DFC and be a leader for God’s Kingdom in our church body.

GENE RAKES

  • Gene and his wife, Gwenda have attended DFC for 25 years.
  • They have two sons Josh (25) and Levi (24).
  • Gene helps in the DFC youth group and leads a men’s Bible study weekly.

REDGIE ROGERS

  • Redgie was born & raised in Pennsylvania and came to know the Lord when he was 13 years old.
  • He’s been married to Valerie for 42 years and they have three adult children, Shannon, Brooks & Brady, and two grandchildren, Charlotte & Ezra. 
  • He attended Liberty University and studied Music Education. 
  • Redgie has been in the food business his entire adult life and has been employed for the past 17 years by Perdue Farms as Director of Business Development. He’s currently responsible for all aspects of managing a $100 million dollar business unit at Perdue. 
  • Redgie and Valerie also own and operate their own vacation rental property business. 
  • Has lived in Colorado and faithfully attended DFC for 25 years. 
  • He’s volunteered in many areas at DFC, including youth sponsor, college sponsor, vacation Bible school, van driver and helping with events. He also played saxophone in Nazz Jazz.   
  • Currently, he is a member of the DFC choir and loves getting to sing on the worship team, as well as serving as a member of the ad hoc DFC HR committee. 
  • Redgie’s other interests include golf, college sports, and anything involving their grandkids! 

CHERYL SCOTT

  • Cheryl is a third generation Nazarene who graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. 
  • She is a career accountant and is currently a small business owner. 
  • Cheryl has been a long-time DFC member, taught 3rd grade Sunday School for 30+ years, and currently serves on  Bridge Builders SS class Leadership Team. 
  • She is grateful for God's redemptive work in her life. 
  • Cheryl loves being part of DFC and looks forward to continued service in ministry as God directs.

GARY SPRINGER

  • Gary gave his life to Jesus Christ when he was 13 years old. Following God means everything to Gary. In his daily life, he seeks to spend time with God, read the Word, worship, and follow Him in every way. He longs for the Lord’s wisdom in his life and consistently seeks to know Him more. 
  • Gary has attended DFC for three years and has served as an usher for the past two years. 
  • His professional life has been primarily directed toward warehouse and manufacturing operations management. 
  • He was married for 35 years to his wife who passed away in 2018 after a long battle with cancer. 
  • He recently married Jilleen Johnson, who he met at DFC. It is their joyful purpose to seek and serve the Lord together in every aspect of their lives as they minister within our community and our church family.

ART STOREY

•Art attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN for a year, then transferred to Pasadena Nazarene College in Pasadena, CA for the rest of his college education.
•After college he joined the LA County Sheriff’s Department where he was assigned to LA County Main Central Jail, then East LA Patrol, and later he was accepted into the Special Enforcement Bureau, SWAT Team.
•After years in law enforcement, he felt called into the ministry with The Salvation Army. He spent 20 years as a Commissioned (ordained) Officer with numerous assignments including community centers, administrator for drug and alcohol recovery programs, Western Territory College Training Instructor and Western Territory Emergency Services Director.
•In 2001, Art was hired by FEMA Denver Regional Office as a Voluntary Agency Liaison working with volunteer and faith-based organizations in disaster response and recovery. He was deployed to many large disasters including 9-11 and Katrina.
•When not deployed to disasters, he attended DFC. He retired in 2012 and he and his wife, Maureen have been attending regularly since then.
•Art’s father was a Nazarene minister, as was his Uncle Phil who served on the DFC staff in the 1980’s.

MINISTRY POSiTIOns: You will be voting YES or No on these three positions.

JEFF COPELAND

  • Jeff and Chrystal moved to Denver a year ago from Albuquerque, where Jeff had served on the board, was a member of the SDMI board, head of Adult Ministries and taught weekly Bible study at Albuquerque Heights Church of the Nazarene.
  • Jeff is a regional leader in the pet care industry.
  • In his spare time, Jeff enjoys anything outdoors, and can often be found in the mountains and the Desert Southwest.
  • Currently, Jeff and Chrystal serve as leaders in the Gather Sunday School Class.

Scott Henke

  • Scott has attended DFC since 1982.
  • He is our current SDMI Director and has been on the Board for 2 years, bringing his 39 years of business leadership to DFC.

LEANNE STUBBS

  • Leanne is a RN at Colorado Children's Hospital.
  • She’s married to Ian Stubbs and a mother to an overweight guinea pig.
  • She has been a member of the Nazarene church since 2015 and has previous board experience at DFC (2020) and SE Church of the Naz in San Diego, CA (2017-2018).
  • She has spearheaded many local giving drives at DFC and leads the NMI Missional Outreach Council bi-monthly. Currently working toward integration of global mission education.
  • Leanne is also active in the Prayer Quilt Ministry and Women's ministries and has a heart for community.
The COLORADO DISTRICT ASSEMBLY will be held June 17-19, 2021, at Denver First Church.

Delegates to the District Assembly may be nominated by the Pastor subject to the approval of the Church Board.
