In the case of bad weather, the most important thing is for everyone to be safe. Please do not travel to Denver First Church for worship services or activities if you feel that doing so would be unsafe. If there is an actual state of emergency (declared by the governor), services and activities will be cancelled.
If bad weather makes you wonder whether church or a church event has been cancelled, you can tune in to TV stations 9(NBC), 7(ABC) or 4(CBS) to find out. You can also check the Denver First Church website (www.denverfirstchurch.com) for pertinent updates. For quicker communication, sign up to have your cell phone, mobile device, or smart phone receive a text message when breaking information happens at DFC. Please text “Follow DFC" to 40404 to receive such updates (unsubscribe anytime by sending "OFF" to 40404). Twitter and text updates will not only include weather related closures, but may include ministry events and other happenings at DFC. You can also follow Denver First Church on Facebook.
In the event of a closing or delayed opening due to inclement weather or other emergency, an announcement will be placed on the church website, posted on Facebook and Twitter.
Office staff will attempt to notify the contact person for affected activities.
A determination of church program status will be made and communicated as expeditiously as possible. The goal is to make a determination by 6:00 am for morning/daytime operations and activities, and by 2:00 pm for evening activities. Sometimes there are circumstances that make these time lines unrealistic. We appreciate your understanding.
Every effort will be made to conduct both Sunday morning worship services (9am & 10:30am) along with Sunday school (9am & 10:30am). Only extremely hazardous weather, impassable travel conditions, severe damage to facilities, and/or a power outage at the church will cause a cancellation.
If at all possible, weddings, funerals, and major one time special events will be conducted as scheduled.
Cancellation of Sunday evening programs will be posted on our website (www.denverfirstchurch.com), Facebook
and Twitter by 2:00pm.
