Executive Staff

I was born and raised in Kansas and spent most of my formative years in the Kansas City area. I attended Mid America Nazarene University on a football scholarship where I met my wife Sherri. I received my Masters of Ministry degree from Point Loma Nazarene University. My former pastorates include Topeka, KS, Hooker, OK, Blythe, CA, Council Bluffs, IA, Visalia, CA and now I’m enjoying the great congregation of DFC. Sherri and I have three children, Shawna (First grade teacher and married to Dalton Diehl, residing in Nashville), Shayli (student at Northwest Nazarene University) and Shaden who attends Lutheran High School

Something few people would know about me is that I love the weather, watching it, experiencing it, living it. I spend a lot of time watching the Weather Channel.

If I could vacation anywhere in the world, I would go back to New York City where Sherri and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. It was one of the most enjoyable trips of my life.

When I was little, I wanted to be either a professional football player or a meteorologist (weather man). I remember having a Stretch Armstrong – that was pretty cool.

My favorite TV show is either King of Queens or The Office and I like Man vs. Wild. My favorite movies are The Apostle and Rocky I-X. I am currently enjoying the book by Brennan Manning entitled “The Furious Longing of God.”

Executive Pastor of Administration and Stewardship

I was born in Boston, Massachusetts then raised in the Midwest town of Olathe, Kansas. I am a blessed and proud father of three lovely daughters and have been married to a wonderfully gifted and beautiful wife for 23 years. If I could vacation anywhere in the world, it would be anywhere with my wife and daughters.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be an Endodontist. One of my favorite toys as a child was a Big Wheel. I would spend hours riding around the neighborhood in my sweet ride. I also enjoyed building and designing with Legos.

Though I don’t spend a great deal of time watching television, my favorite shows would be 60 Minutes or 20/20, my favorite movie is Amadeus, and my favorite books are Inevitable Surprises, An Unstoppable Force, Human Sigma and If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat.

My background has led me through being a Business Owner, High School Educator, Executive Level leadership at a Fortune 100 company, Golf Professional, and regional restaurant and golf course General Management. I have been honored and privileged to be in full time ministry work at Denver First Church since 2006.

Director of Connections/Senior Pastor's Assistant

I was born in Missouri but spent most of my childhood in Greeley, CO where my dad, Roy Pedersen, pastored the Greeley First Church of the Nazarene for many years. I graduated from Mid America Nazarene University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Communications and met my husband Shawn while attending there. Shawn and I have three children, Shawna ((married to Dalton Diehl), Shayli and Shaden and we reside in Highlands Ranch.

My favorite TV show is The Office. My favorite movie(s) are sports stories such as Blind Side, Remember the Titans, Hoosiers, Miracle, etc. I love reading so I have lots of favorites, but the book that I would have to say made a very profound difference in my life is entitled “The Heavenly Man” by Brother Yun. I’m still trying to process it. I also enjoy Ted Dekker and Joel Rosenberg.
